Description Cherokee Bowie Knife with Sheath The Cherokee Bowie Knife is from the 1830 period and is one of the earliest style Bowies. This popular type appears in some of the premier collections as well as in early paintings, including that of the famous Cherokee chief, “Tah-Chee”, where it is prominently shown. The heavy, 8-1/2″ blade is a full 3/16″ thick with nice Rosewood slab grips featuring a German silver inlaid plate, pins and wrapped pommel. The original knives were produced by the Gravely & Weeks firm of Sheffield, England, and our knife is a faithful reproduction. It is a massive, 14-1/4″ in overall length and comes with an ornately fringed leather scabbard patterned after the original. 8 1/2″ blade 14-1/4″ overall length “S” shaped iron guard and bone grip with incise carving SKU: CC4926-012
